In the era of materialism, letting out your true self has indeed become very difficult. Disclosing what you think or what you feel is not just wise but also a habit. However, are sure you want to do that? Let’s figure out why not.
Embrace Your Insecurities:
None of us are perfect. We have our own strengths and weaknesses that make us who we are. However, we fear often that disclosing our insecurities will make us fall prey to peer attacks. I won’t say this is false for this is the scenario that we come across most of the time. However, don’t you think if you embrace your insecurities and try to convert them into your strength, you would be better off?
Figure Out Ways to Combat Your Weaknesses:
Once you have accepted that you cannot be the best in every niche, work on what you are good at. Most importantly, you will realise that quite a number of things you can’t do at all require your attention constantly. In that case, are you supposed to shun your responsibilities? I suggest you work extra hard to understand and learn it. Nobody is asking you to be exceptionally good at it. However, you should have the basic knowledge to carry out even if you do not have immediate help around.
Show the World what You are Good at:
How long are you going to hide? One day, you will have to take the credit for doing what you are really good at. However, before you start receiving compliments, you need to be mentally prepared that you will be criticised no matter what. So, embrace who you are and be open to criticisms. Stop faking your happiness when you see your talent being owned by another person.
With success comes jealousy. As you tread the path of success, your activities will become more and more controversial. However, that doesn’t mean you will hide behind the mask. Own what you do and be who you are. Even if you are wrong, don’t be afraid to take a stand. All of us learn from our mistakes. Thus, it is better to be yourself than to follow the crowd. Be proud of your individuality even if you are tagged a weirdo. Embrace who you truly are and, one day, the world will envy you.
