Top 5 Bollywood Movies To Look Forward to in 2018

Bollywood is ready to offer a lot of treats to their movie fanatics with their launch list all prepared. Some movies which are yet to be released have already created such a big buzz in the media that you cannot help but wait for them to be out on the big screens! While this list is short and precise, the long and exciting list of the upcoming Bollywood movies is much awaited by every fan.

  • Padmavati/Padmaavat

Now everybody is definitely aware of this movie starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh. The controversy regarding the name of the movie and the number of scenes that had to be deleted in order for it to be made available to the public is a topic of discussion till today and will remain so till its release in January 26,2018.

The movie revolves around the time period of 1303 AD India, when the Queen Padmavati who was known around the world for her exceptional beauty and a strong sense of justice, becomes the obsession of the sultan Allaudin Khilji. While she is the wife of Maha Rawal Ratan Singh and the pride of the kingdom of Chittor, this does not stop Khilji from wanting the queen for himself.

Without even being released, Padmaavat has created a buzz among the general masses.

  • Padman

Akshay Kumar has done it again! He seems to be one of the only Bollywood actors who is ready to take on such unconventional roles. After Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, he is back with Padman and is prepared to blow your minds off! Now if this movie doesn’t do well at the box office then I will be personally offended by what the movie signifies and stands for is something extremely crucial to women and men worldwide. The movie stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, and is based upon the life of the Tamil Nadu based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham. The movie is said to release on 26th of January 2018 along with Padmaavat.

  • Hichki

And the queen Rani Mukerji is back again! After Mardaani, she is bringing us a completely different but equally interesting movie. Hichki deals basically with the life of a female who aspired to be a teacher but due to her Tourette Syndrome (a speech disorder), she faces several hurdles on the way. It is an adaptation of the Hollywood movie Front of the class, which, was based on the book Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome made me the teacher I never had! by Brad Cohen. The movie is scheduled to release on 23rd February 2018 and will definitely be something unique for the Bollywood industry!

  • Aiyaary

Sidharth Malhotra, the young heartthrob is back with another possibly hit movie! The song “Lae Doba” has already become a major hit between the youth. The film carries a wide range of star list, ranging from Manoj Bajpayee, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher and Rakul Preet Singh. The film is said to release on 26th January 2018 and will clash with Padmaavat and Padman which makes its release all the more fascinating. Releasing on Republic Day, the movie will definitely touch the heart of all the patriotic peeps.

  • Pari

So while all the other movies are basically a romance with a bit of action, Anushka Sharma is offering us something different. Disregarding everything she has done previously, Pari is going to be the first horror movie ever done by Anushka Sharma who is well known for her strong movies such as NH10 and romance-comedy movies. The film is said to release on February 9Th, 2018.  The controversies following the release of the movie have already hyped up the entire ordeal. Furthermore, Virushkha’s wedding will definitely add as an extra buzz for the movie. Apart from this, the death of a technician due to electrocution on the site led to the shooting being stopped immediately.

In the end, all I can say is that 2018 is going to be the best year for Bollywood. We’ve already got a great startup for 26th January and with more to come, this list will continue to grow more and more. Keep on watching these movies and we’ll keep you posted on the best hits that should never be missed!
